This winter, both Sydney and Adelaide will come alive with French flair as the Bastille Festival brings its famous celebration of food, wine, and culture to two cities. Adelaide kicks things off at Festival Plaza from 30 May to 1 June, while Sydney takes over Circular Quay and The Rocks from 17–20 July 2025 — and best of all, entry is free.

DATES & DEETS

Sydney will once again transform into a vibrant celebration of French culture as the Bastille Festival returns with four days of French food, wine, art, and entertainment. More than 120 exhibitors will offer over 80 mouth-watering dishes, from raclette and escargots to crêpes and macarons, alongside exciting chef collaborations that re-imagine French classics. Wine lovers are in for a treat too, with pop-up bars, curated wine tastings, and Champagne bubbles flowing across the precinct.

Beyond the food and drink, Bastille Festival is a true feast for the senses. Visitors can enjoy over 100 free shows, including live concerts, street theatre, fire performances, and dance lessons. Highlights include the sparkling French Cabaret Night on Friday and the high-energy French DJ Party on Saturday.

Meanwhile in Adelaide, Festival Plaza will host its own French celebration, serving up melted raclette, cabaret and cancan dancers, buttery pastries, and lively street theatre — all designed to bring a little slice of France to South Australia. Entry and performances are free, making it the perfect winter weekend escape.

Bastille Festival 2025 invites everyone to embrace their inner Francophile — no passport required.
