The Adelaide Irish Club has unveiled a fresh new look, with major renovations completed just in time for St Patrick’s Day celebrations.
These saw the club packed with revellers enjoying the club’s Irish Pipe Band, Celtic musicians and Irish dancing.
In a newsletter, the Irish Australian Association (IAA) shared that the main hall’s bar has been completely refurbished thanks to the hard work of volunteers. The club said: “Some people said it could not be done! Some people said it would never be done! But thanks to our fantastic volunteers — especially during demolition — it is done!”
Special thanks were extended to Eddie Howlett, George Mulvaney, Ted Muldoon, Sean Hinchey, Vince Sheehy, and Denis Carey, who put in the hard yards to bring the new bar to life. Alongside this, the reception area and main hall have been given a fresh coat of paint, with Tony Lynch and Will Roe credited for their efforts in revitalising this
space.

A new flag has also been raised above the club, symbolising renewal, while a modern light-box sign now brightens up Carrington Street, making the venue more visible than ever. Further improvements include new balcony lighting.
With the renovations complete, the club is encouraging people to make use of the refreshed space, highlighting its Corporate Partner Program for businesses wanting to advertise on the club’s website.
Membership renewals are also open, with the club emphasising the importance of continued community support.
“Our members are the heart and soul of our community,” they said.
With a new look and a packed schedule of events, the Adelaide Irish Club is well-positioned for an exciting year ahead.
