Queensland Manx Society shared: “Everyone is most welcome to join us, bring your friends and families.
“To our friends in kindred societies, please come along, we would love to see you.“
Founded in 1914, the society continues to meet regularly. Any interested persons are encouraged to join, regardless of their heritage.
The society held their Christmas party in December. They shared: “The room was buzzing as we celebrated the festive season at the Arana Leagues Club. It was fabulous catching up with old friends and meeting several new friends.”
The attendees were entertained by the talented band Phillip’s Dog and dancing by Australian Historical Dance. And the main man, Santa paid a visit too.
The family picnic day will be held at Jamieson Park, Reef Point Esplanade. The entertainment will include music, displays, games, and activities, plus good old Manx hospitality.
You can bring your own food and drinks, or purchase fish and chips from the nearby bay boats.
The picnic supports One Salt Water Inc., who provide humanitarian aid to the Pacific region.
