The ladies will start their busy schedule by performing a couple of local Brisbane shows starting at the famous BuG (Brisbane’s best folk secret) at New Farm Bowls Club on Tuesday, 4th February. They will be promoting women in music and celebrating St Brigid’s Day (albeit a few days late). This is your opportunity to learn about Ireland’s female patron Saint and listen to songs primarily from Ireland to celebrate both Saint Brigid’s Day and the upcoming Saint Patrick’s Day.
Then, on Saturday, March 22nd, be mesemerised by their full two-hour Spellbound show at Sandgate Town Hall. The show will feature new songs as well as a few favourites to sing and dance along with.
Tickets available through TryBooking – https://www.trybooking.com/events/landing/1327295.
If you haven’t seen Australian Celtic Women, then you’re in for a treat. Australian Celtic Women brings together an all-female seven-piece musical ensemble, made up of award-winning musicians and singers, who all share a love of Celtic music from around the world. Their concerts will transport you back to your Celtic roots.
Stunning visual effects, angelic voices, costumes, and choreography combined with the richness of Celtic instruments – fiddles, harp, bagpipes, bodhrans, tin whistle, cello, drums and keyboards – provides an unforgettable performance full of warmth, memories, exhilaration and leaves the audience crying out for more.
In addition, the Spellbound show features special guests. There will be afternoon tea available for purchase made by the lovely local Sandgate Country Women’s Association. This is in-keeping with the band’s philosophy of women supporting women.
The following day, on Sunday 23rd March, they are performing a relaxed picnic-style show at Moggill Home, 157 Livesay Road, Moggill. This is a celebration of Viva La Musica, who have been performing and producing a variety of shows for over 30 years. Tickets and details coming soon.
Other upcoming gigs include two performances at Australian Celtic Festival in Glen Innes on May 1st and 3rd, as well as Ipswich Civic Centre on May 17th. Check out their website for tickets and more upcoming gigs at www.celticwomen.com.au.
