Scotland just got its very own worldwide dedicated TV channel, with The Scotland Channel launching earlier this month, bringing a slice of Scotland’s rich heritage and culture to audiences.
Designed for those with a passion for all things Scottish, the free channel features a diverse range of programming, from wildlife documentaries and historic explorations to contemporary stories of innovation.
One of the highlights is a feature on Scotland’s pioneering space sector, coinciding with the launch of the nation’s first rocket.
The channel shared: “Our launch coincided with the launch of Scotland’s first commercial rocket into space from SaxaVord in the Shetlands which provides the only vertical launch facility in Europe. It’s perhaps fitting, therefore, that our very first programme is about Scotland’s little-known space industry and how it is leading Europe’s space sector within just 19 years of being established. The programme is available to watch on our on-demand platform at: thescotlandchannel.tv or through our YouTube Channel.”
The Scotland Channel’s content is entirely produced in Scotland, ensuring authenticity and a genuine Scottish perspective. Viewers can see engaging films that showcase the country’s natural beauty, historical landmarks, and cultural traditions, providing an immersive Scottish experience.
Additionally, viewers can engage with live events and interactive shows, making it a dynamic platform for cultural exchange.
