The captivating story of Amy Winehouse comes to life in the highly anticipated feature film Back to Black, set to hit cinemas on April 18th.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sam Taylor-Johnson, the international teaser trailer and a striking new poster for Back to Black offer a glimpse into the vibrant world of the legendary music icon. Charting Winehouse’s dynamic years in London and her tumultuous journey to stardom, the film stars breakout talent Marisa Abela as the incomparable Amy Winehouse.

Supported by a stellar cast including BAFTA-winning actor Jack O’Connell, Eddie Marsan, Juliet Cowan, and the esteemed Lesley Manville, the film promises an intimate portrayal of Winehouse’s life and legacy. Manville’s portrayal of Amy’s grandmother, Cynthia, adds depth and emotion to the narrative.

Featuring many of Winehouse’s iconic songs performed by Marisa Abela, Back to Black is a labour of love, made with the full support of Universal Music Group and SONY Music Publishing. Director Sam Taylor-Johnson expressed her excitement for the project, praising Abela’s transformative performance: “Discovering a talent like Marisa Abela is akin to finding gold dust.”

Adding to the anticipation, Australian music legends Nick Cave and Warren Ellis have been enlisted to compose the film’s score, bringing their unique sensibility and understanding of Winehouse’s story to the forefront.
