Queensland has spoken, and the fiery titans have been crowned!
Finn McCool’s Irish Pub, at Fortitude Valley in Brisbane, set the stage ablaze with its quest for the hottest gingers in town.
The verdict is in, the Ginger King and Queen of 2023 are Arthur Henry and Ashlyn Tobin.
It was the third year running of Finn McCool’s famed competition, and there’s one important rule – your ginger hair can’t have come from a bottle, it’s got to be the real McCoy. The winners got a modelling contract and a $500 cash prize.
Finn McCool’s Irish Bar Fortitude Valley is the only Irish bar in Australia to hold such a competition.
“It proved to be not only a massive success, but a really fun evening,” shared Luke Mellers of Finn McCool’s, encapsulating the electric atmosphere that enveloped the event.
Not only was the bar packed wall to wall with redheads, but they were also served red wines, fire engine cocktails, vodka Red Bulls and espresso martinis.
As the fervour of the Ginger contest simmers down, Finn McCool’s is gearing up for their next extravaganza – turning from a sea of red to a sea of green for Finns Fest. Set to be a day of musical magic and pure Irish revelry, this festival promises to whisk you away on a journey of toe-tapping tunes and foot-stomping rhythms.
For a full day on October 21st, Finns Fest will feature performances by top-notch bands like The Gathering, Limerick, Tartan Shamrock, Amaidi, and Tales of Strangers, across two stages.
