Brisbane’s young Celts will once again bring their energy and spirit to Moorlands Park in Auchenflower on Sunday, 31 May, for the second Junior Celtic Games — a high-energy celebration of Celtic culture hosted by the Celtic Council of Australia Queensland (CCAQ). The free event offers a full day of sport, tradition, and community, welcoming children up to the age of 16.
With a focus on the eight Celtic Nations — Ireland, Isle of Man, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, Brittany, Asturias, and Galicia — the games deliver a lively program of activities blending fun with cultural heritage, all set alongside the Celtic Nations Standing Stones.

The fun activities will include kilt races, novelty races and games, tossing the caber, tug-o-war and an introduction to Gaelic Football. There will also be prizes for the best Celtic dressed boy and girl, as well as a raffle, and other prizes and giveaways. Light refreshments will be available from food vans on site, offering sausage sizzle, ice-cream, coffee, soft drinks etc. With free entry, all you need to bring along are hats, umbrellas, chairs/blankets, water, sunscreen and a picnic lunch if desired. The games run from 9am to 1pm.
From fierce competition to cultural pride, the Brisbane Junior Celtic Games promises to deliver a thrilling day of fun and tradition for young Celts and their families.
