
The East Gippsland Winter Festival returns from June 20 to July 20, 2025, offering a diverse array of events that celebrate art, culture, food, and community spirit.
Experience winter in East Gippsland as the region comes alive in a month-long festival of luminous art, epic winter feasts, trestle bridge soirees, lively music, dark skies, roaring fires and cold plunges.
Incorporating Winter Solstice and the Winter School Holidays, the fifth annual East Gippsland Winter Festival will present one of the largest winter festival programs anywhere in Australia, offering something for all ages and a memorable winter getaway with family or friends. Choose from over 100 different events, right across East Gippsland.
Expect beautiful hand-made lanterns, projection art that augments reality, live music in unexpected places, engaging pop-up events, long lunches and winter feasts in spectacular locations, creative hands-on workshops, wellness experiences overlooking lakes, on-foot adventures and much more.
Here’s a glimpse of just some of what’s on the program:
- The Art of Dining (June 20 – July 20): An exhibition of food and cooking-related pencil drawings by local artist Cecile Michel, displayed across various East Gippsland restaurants, cafes, and wineries.
- Bluey & Bingo Shine a Light on Endangered Animals (June 20 – July 20): An illuminated lantern display at Beachcomber Holiday Units, celebrating Australian endangered animals with interactive QR codes linking to fun facts.
- Lakes Lights (July 12): A one-night-only event in Lakes Entrance featuring giant artist-made lanterns, projection art, transforming the foreshore into a magical illuminated wonderland.
- Bruthen Medieval Market (June 21): A family-friendly medieval-themed market showcasing local artists, growers, and businesses, complete with unique stalls, food vans, and children’s activities.
