The 2025 Scenic Rim Clydesdale Spectacular is set to be an unforgettable celebration of heritage, horsepower, and Highland culture, taking place on June 14 and 15 at the Beaudesert Showgrounds in Queensland. This year’s event promises an expanded program, featuring not only the majestic Clydesdale horses but also a vibrant blend of music and Scottish traditions.

Kicking off the festivities on Friday, June 13, is the inaugural Country Music Concert, headlined by Queensland’s own Luke Geiger. The evening begins with DJ Stanfield spinning classic country and pub hits, followed by Geiger’s live performance. DJ Stanfield returns to the stage afterward, ensuring the party continues into the night. Tickets for the concert are available through the official website.
The weekend’s main event showcases the grandeur of the Clydesdale breed, with highlights including the Marley Draught 11-horse team and demonstrations by renowned teamster Terry Goodear. Adding a Scottish flair, the Fassifern Highland Gathering features massed pipe bands, Highland dancing, caber tossing, and clan displays, celebrating the region’s rich Celtic connections.
Visitors can also enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities, food stalls, and opportunities to learn about the history and significance of the Clydesdale horse in Australia’s development.
The Clydesdale has a long history in the Scenic Rim dating back to the 1800s when Arnold Wienholt had the Wienholt Clydesdale Stud in Maryvale, a stud of some 400 horses. The Clydesdale breed in Queensland and in the Scenic Rim has been kept alive by the Ehrich Families and their enormous history and passion for the breed.
