This tour is a special one as the team will be celebrating 50 years since the release of Queen’s innovative and ground-breaking song Bohemian Rhapsody. After releasing the song, the band received mixed reviews due to its unconventional structure, absence of a repeating chorus, and division into multiple distinct sections. Now, critics say that Bohemian Rhapsody is one of the greatest songs of all time.
In 2004, Queen’s iconic song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and in 2018, Bohemian Rhapsody was announced as the most streamed song of the 20th century, surpassing Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit and Guns N’ Roses’ Sweet Child o’ Mine.
In Queen: It’s a Kinda Magic, classically-trained artist Warren Vernon-Driscoll will once again reprise his role as the incomparable Freddie Mercury, singing and performing on both piano and guitar live on stage as well as singing the hits audiences know and love.
“It’s one thing to create these musical masterpieces, but a whole other thing to then be able to go and perform them in the unique, spectacular way that he did. He is a very hard artist to replicate but it’s an honour to try!” said Vernon-Driscoll.
Queen: It’s a Kinda Magic promises the full rock concert experience, bringing audio, lighting and FX all specifically designed to be bigger, better and even louder than last time!
Tickets are now available for the Townsville show, but seats are selling extremely fast so be sure to get in quick!
