
The 2025 Kernewek Lowender, the world’s largest Cornish festival, is set to enliven South Australia’s Copper Coast from 12 to 18 May, and the digital festival program is now available on the official website.

A highlight of the festivities is the Stret Fer on Friday, 16 May, in Moonta’s George Street and Queen Square. This vibrant street fair features traditional Cornish entertainment, market stalls, and the Drakes Supermarkets Pasty Bake-Off, where VIPs compete to craft the perfect Cornish pasty. Attendees can also enjoy Maypole and Furry Dances, accompanied by lively music, and relax in the Swanky Garden with live entertainment extending into the evening.
The festival also includes the Drakes Supermarkets Procession on Friday, 16 May, the Newbery Chemists/Apex Wallaroo Street Party on Saturday, 17 May, and the RAA Classic Cavalcade of Cars on Sunday, 18 May.
Other events encompass the Rotary Village Fair, Cornish Language Lessons, Cousin Jack and Jenny Competition, Cemetery Tour, Sup and Sing with the Cornish, Art Prize Exhibition, Gathering of the Bards, Cornish History Seminar, Heritage Football and Netball Game, and the Blessing of the Waters ceremony.
