Queensland’s Pagan community is set to celebrate the changing seasons with the inaugural Southern Samhain Ball on May 3 at Club Noir, Loganholme. Hosted by the Queensland Pagan Collective, this unique event aligns with the Southern Hemisphere’s seasonal cycle, honouring Samhain’s deep-rooted traditions.

DATES & DEETS

Samhain, an ancient Celtic festival marking the end of the harvest and the transition into winter, is also a time for reflection and ancestral connection. Recognised as the point in the year when the veil between worlds is at its thinnest, the event will feature a well-known medium offering messages to select guests, adding a spiritual dimension to the evening.

In keeping with tradition, the Southern Samhain Ball will include a ritual led by a designated guardian. This year, the role falls to Samyo, a respected figure within the community, known for his contributions to the Beltane Community Gathering in Landsborough. Organisers say his presence will add a sense of continuity and spiritual guidance to the celebration. As the Queensland Pagan Collective embarks on what it describes as the beginning of a nine-year cycle, the ball represents not just a night of festivity but a chance to strengthen community bonds. Guests can expect an evening rich in symbolism, ritual, and connection, marking the start of a new tradition in the Pagan calendar.
