What a display of joy the Australian Morris Ale has been this year. The dancers filled the streets of Brisbane with sound and colour, and onlookers were only too delighted to join in the fun. The photographs in this issue, and on the cover, tell the story of what a wonderful Morris community we have in Australia.

It’s been a big month for the English community, with the visit by King Charles and Queen Camilla happening too. And with Guy Fawkes celebrations coming up and the British Film Festival about to open, there’s plenty to be excited about in November too.

And speaking of film festivals, the Irish Film Festival is also running across Australia this month. Both film festivals have stellar line-ups, so you’ll be spoilt for choice. In this edition, you’ll find details of the highlights from both.

Concert announcements are coming thick and fast, as they always do at this time of year. In the past few weeks, we’ve had announcements of tours from massive artists – New Order, Fatboy Slim, Graham Norton, The Corrs, Cliff Richard. Not to mention Oasis. It’s going to be a busy year ahead!

The first Brisbane Celtic Festival was held in October. It was a joy to be among so many people from across the Celtic Nations celebrating their cultures together. It was lovely to see attendees dressed up in the traditional clothing of their countries and carrying flags from their Celtic Nation. I chatted to people from Normandy, Scotland, Isle of Man, Cornwall, and, obviously, Ireland. Us Irish love nothing more than a natter.

The park where the festival was held was surrounded by blooming jacaradas which looked stunning against the grey skies on the day. Well done to all the organisers, we will have a full picture spread in our December edition and you can check out some videos of the day on our Facebook page.
