The annual Hunter Valley Highland Games at Saltire Estate was a grand spectacle where Scotland met good vibes and vines on Sunday, August 4th. Set in the picturesque Saltire Estate, a winery nestled in Lovedale, New South Wales, the event transported visitors into a world of Scottish tradition. The lush vineyards of Hunter Valley served as the perfect backdrop for caber tossing, Scottish dancing, and the skirl of bagpipes, blending local beauty with a celebration of Scottish heritage.

The day began with a grand parade of traditional bagpipers and Highland dancers, followed by the iconic caber toss and stones of strength. Dancers performed graceful routines steeped in history, while athletes demonstrated sheer grit in the Husafell stone carry. Pipe bands filled the air with continuous performances, adding to the atmosphere. Visitors also enjoyed the sight of adorable Highland cows, explored cultural tents filled with Scottish history and crafts, and savoured authentic Scottish cuisine, including Scotch pies and haggis.

Hunter Valley Highland Games organisers took to social media to share their excitement: “What a day at the Hunter Valley Highland Games! Hey everyone!
