Perhaps the most versatile of all foods, the potato deserves its own festival. Just ask the people of Trentham in Victoria.

For 16 years now, they’ve been hosting The Great Trentham Spudfest, a vibrant annual festival that celebrates the humble potato in all its glory. The 2024 festival will be showcasing the region’s finest offerings and products over two days of festivities on May 4th and 5th.

Streets will be lined with stalls offering spud-inspired delicacies, fresh regional produce, and artisanal crafts. Visitors can enjoy guided bus tours of the old heritage-protected Spud Huts.

The inaugural Spudfest Ceilidh will be a lively celebration of Celtic music, food, and, of course, dancing.

Embark on a culinary adventure with Spudfeast, a dinner showcasing spudtastic dishes at various venues throughout the region.

Spudfest is an opportunity to connect with local farmers and artisans. From farm tours to self-guided trails, visitors can get a behind-the-scenes look at the region’s agricultural heritage and sample fresh produce straight from the source.

With activities for all ages, including kids’ games and live music, The Great Trentham Spudfest promises a weekend of fun, food, and festivities that will leave attendees craving more.
