The 119th Maclean Highland Gathering on 29th and 30th March boasts an exceptional adjudicating panel assembled by the Lower Clarence Scottish Association.

Chief Peter Smith is thrilled by the caliber, stating, “We’ve gathered a panel in Maclean that rivals World Championships, offering our visiting bands and soloists the chance to be assessed by some of the world’s finest players and adjudicators.”

Among the international pipers on the panel is US-born Donald MacPhee, who relocated to Scotland in 1997 and boasts an impressive record, including 33 major pipe band championship wins, including six World Pipe Band Championships.

Glenn Brown, hailing from Ontario, Canada, brings extensive experience, having been Pipe Sergeant of the World Championship winning Shotts & Dykehead in 2015. Brian Switalla, a two-time world champion bagpiper from New Zealand, rounds out the international contingent, bringing his expertise from both solo and band arenas.

Joining them are Australian judges Sam Young and Garry Barker, along with Tom McGirr and Dr. Alastair McInnes from Queensland and Grafton, respectively, who complete the illustrious piping panel.

Drumming adjudicators Joe Fleming and David Grey, alongside Drum Major Brian May, and Highland Dancing judges Carolyne Davidson and Judith Greer, complete the expert panel for this year’s gathering.
