
In a significant cultural milestone, Bellingen, New South Wales, hosted the Australian premiere of the acclaimed Irish play Maz and Bricks, written by Eva O’Connor. The production, running until October 8th, marks the debut performance of local theatre company Et Tu Theatre.
In Maz and Bricks, the Dublin streets become the backdrop for an unlikely connection. Two strangers, each with their own agenda for the day, collide on public transport, thanks to one of them, Bricks, having a loud phone conversation about the previous night’s misadventures.
This chance encounter leads to an unexpected conversation between Bricks and Maz. As their stories unfold amid the urban hustle and bustle, a bond begins to form, promising the potential for life-altering changes. Maz and Bricks explores the transformative power of chance meetings and the tales that can emerge from the unlikeliest of situations.
The play’s exploration of profound themes is interwoven with moments of lightheartedness and humour, making it a unique and powerful theatrical experience.
