Alice Cooper, the legendary shock rocker, caused a frenzy at Manchester’s Afflecks Palace when he dropped by for a shopping spree. Traders were left starstruck as the School’s Out singer explored the stalls, picking up a t-shirt for his bandmate, Johnny Depp.
Cooper’s style radar led him to Modern Streets, where he fell in love with a skeleton-themed design that exclaimed: ‘All My Friends Are Dead’. Sadly, the shorts weren’t his size, but that didn’t dampen his rock ‘n’ roll spirit. Instead, he snagged shirts as gifts for Depp and his crew, spreading the love and supporting local businesses with a cool £100 spent.
Shop owner Jack Parkinson couldn’t believe his luck as he chatted with the living legend. Cooper proved to be the epitome of down-to-earth, even offering to pay for the shirts instead of accepting freebies.
Cooper and Depp’s band, The Hollywood Vampires, spent July touring in the UK and Europe. UK dates included Scarborough, Swansea, Manchester, Birmingham, London and Glasgow.
