The 2025 British & Irish Lions Tour to Australia is shaping up to be an electrifying rugby spectacle. The Lions have released their nine-match schedule, including three highly anticipated Test matches against the Wallabies.
Mark your calendars for the Test clashes on 19 July, 26 July, and 2 August. The action-packed tour will take the Lions to Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney respectively for the crucial Test matches.
But it’s not just about the Tests; the Lions will ignite the rugby fever with matches against formidable opponents. Their journey will begin in Perth against the Western Force, followed by encounters with the Queensland Reds, NSW Waratahs, and ACT Brumbies.
A special highlight will be a midweek showdown against an invitational Australian and New Zealand team at the Adelaide Oval.
The Test series promises to leave rugby fans awestruck with iconic venues like Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium, the historic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), and Sydney’s Accor Stadium set to witness the thrill of the game.
The Lions’ two-week preparation period before the Tour, in collaboration with Premiership Rugby and the United Rugby Championship, ensures they’ll be at their best to battle it out on Australian soil.
After the absence of fans in the 2021 Tour of South Africa, rugby enthusiasts can’t wait to be part of this historic event.
CEO of The British & Irish Lions, Ben Calveley, expressed excitement about the upcoming tour, while Ieuan Evans, Chairman of The British & Irish Lions, emphasised the unique cultural impact of Lions Tours.
Ieuan Evans said: “British & Irish Lions Tours are unique in the world of sport, both in terms of the ultimate challenge they represent and the cultural impact they have. Lions tours to Australia have always been memorable occasions and the 2025 Tour promises to be no different.”
