Starting from July 1st, 2023, the age range for UK citizens applying for Australia’s working holiday visa program will change from 18-30 to 18-35 years old inclusive. This change aligns the UK with a select group of countries that offer working holiday visas to individuals up to the age of 35. It is worth noting that the majority of countries participating in Australia’s Working Holiday Maker scheme maintain an age limit of 30.
Additionally, starting from July 1st, 2024, UK citizens eligible for a Working Holiday visa in Australia will no longer be required to complete specified work requirements.
Previously, UK passport holders had to fulfill three months of work in designated areas to extend their working holiday to two years, and six months of specified work to extend it to three years. Under the new agreement, they will be able to stay in Australia for a total of three years without undertaking any specified work requirements.
